Three BBQ Recipes from the East, the West and the South

When you are having a party, barbecue recipes are the best to prepare. They are not that dry like fried foods because they have sauce that gives taste to these kinds of dishes. In this article, you will be given three kinds of barbecue recipes from the countries in the east, west and the south.


Russian Shashlik (Eastern)

ShashlikThis is a form of Shish kebab that actually originated in the countries of India, Iran, Mongolia and others. This recipe obtained its concept from the Shish kebab of the given countries and there is only a little manipulation of the ingredients and preparation.








  • 1 Leg of lamb that is deboned
  • 1-2 large onions (yellow) or any kind of sweet onion, diced
  • 2-3 Lemons, obtain the juice
  • 3-4 tbsp Olive oil
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • 2 or more tsp of salt (depending on your taste)
  • Optional: 2 crushed cloves of garlic


1. Remove the fat from the lamb. Wash and dry.

2. Cube the meat (1 ½ inch size)

3. Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and mix it well (better use your hands)

4. Place everything in a large zip bag and freeze overnight

5. Remove in fridge 1 hour prior to grilling

6. Place the meat on skewers with little spaces

7. Grill until it is brown or a little black. You can use a knife to check the inside. If you like it more done, it is your choice

8. Get a ceramic pot and pull the meat away from the skewers and place immediately in the pot and then put the lid on. Be sure to do this 5 to 10 min before eating

9. Add more salt and pepper if you want


Greek Souvlaki (Western)

Souvlaki-plateThis is a traditional recipe that is wrapped in pita bread and topped with different kinds of condiments.









  • ¼ cup of olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of red wine
  • 2 tbsp. of fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. of dried mint
  • 1 tbsp. of dried oregano
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced and smashed
  • 1 bay leaf, crushed into small pieces
  • 1 lb. pork shoulder, trim the fat and chop into 1 ¼ inch cubes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon


1. Get a bowl and whisk the marinade ingredients.

2. Add the cubes of pork and cover with plastic and then place in fridge for 2 – 3 hours

3. For wooden skewers, soak in shallow pan with water while meat marinates.

4. Heat the grill using medium to high. Thread the pork on the skewers.

5. Season with salt and ground black pepper

6. Grill the meat for 10 minutes with occasional turning until cooked.

7. Squeeze some lemon juice and serve.


Singaporean BBQ Chicken Wings

Singaporean BBQ Chicken WingsA BBQ recipe that is popular in Singapore which will suit your taste due to its sweetness.









  • 10 chicken wings rubbed with salt
  • Skewers (metal or wooden)

Marinate sauce:

  • 1 – 2 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ginger juice
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seed oil
  • white pepper
  • Optional: Salt


1. Dry the chicken wings using paper towels

2. Combine marinade ingredients in a large bowl and massage with chicken wings

3. Leave the wings marinated for an hour or overnight with Ziploc

4. Pull off from the fridge for few hours before grilling

5. Get ½ cup of honey for brushing

6. Grill the wings until the meat is already tender. Be sure to have occasional turning and brushing of honey

7. To add more taste, add squeeze lime juice and dip in chili sauce
